Grayson Highlands State Park is accepting applications for a Visitor Service Technician position. Job Summary The Visitor Service Technician role is vital to supporting park visitation and ensuring the efficient completion of essential customer service duties. The selected individual should be self-motivated and organized to successfully assist park management with administrative and retail functions. This provides office support services and coverage at the park office, gift shops, and contact station. Key Duties And Responsibilities Deliver high-quality customer service and communicate effectively with guests via phone, email, and in-person.Perform clerical duties, including operation of computers, cash registers, copiers, and handheld radios.Provide information for park visitors, including detailed information on campsites, park fees, directions, pricing, annual passes, trail information, park educational programs, and local area information.Perform general office administration duties as assigned; ensure workspace, front desk, and other customer contact areas are neat and clean; and serve as support staff for park leadership.Ability to work independently and efficiently while handling multiple tasks.Provide coverage at the park’s contact station, park office, and retail locations as needed.Assist the Office Manager and the Office Manager Assistant with the retail merchandising program, including receiving, processing, distributing, and inventorying merchandise for resale.Ability to work a variety of shifts. Weekends and holidays are required. Minimum Qualifications Knowledgeable in general office procedures. Prior knowledge and experience in retail management and cash management procedures.Must be able to adapt quickly to changing priorities, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize work to meet deadlines.Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office or similar office applications required.Experience using a cash register.Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work well with park staff, support organizations, and the public.Must possess a valid Driver’s License. Additional Considerations General knowledge of park operations and local attractions preferred.Experience providing administrative support and knowledge of the park is desirable.Prior experience in customer service, park setting, or related field is desirable, but not required. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
