What You'll Do
- Work alongside nationally respected SALT attorneys representing clients across a broad range of industries on matters involving:
- California property tax assessment appeals and valuation disputes
- Administrative hearings before county assessment appeals boards
- Property tax litigation and related state court proceedings
- Strategic property tax planning and advisory work
- Tax controversy matters involving state and local taxing authorities
- Counseling clients on complex California and multistate tax issues
- You'll be encouraged to take ownership of matters, interact directly with clients, develop litigation and advocacy skills, and work closely with partners who are invested in mentorship and long-term career development.
- 2–6 years of law firm experience in State & Local Tax, with meaningful exposure to California property tax matters
- Admission to the California Bar
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
- Strong academic credentials
- Ability to manage multiple matters while providing exceptional client service
- Experience with California assessment appeals and property tax litigation
- Prior government or judicial experience
- Interest in broader state and local tax controversy work
- LL.M. in Taxation
- Exposure to sophisticated Fortune 500, real estate, energy, technology, manufacturing, and institutional clients
