State Director, Indiana

About the role

The Indiana State Director is the senior leader responsible for driving statewide public policy strategy, grassroots organizing, government affairs, and coalition engagement. This role serves as the primary spokesperson and strategic leader for AFP-Indiana, overseeing a high-performing team and advancing policy outcomes at the local, state, and federal levels. You will partner closely with legislators, donors, activists, coalition partners, and national stakeholders to execute impactful campaigns and achieve measurable policy wins.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Proven track record of leadership and strategic planning in a similar role
• Experience in grassroots organizing and coalition building
• Strong understanding of state and federal policy issues
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, communications, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
