About the role

This position serves as Chief of the Finance and Budget Division and the Chief Financial Officer for the Department, with responsibility for planning, implementing and administering business and financial support services to the Department. Provides strategic financial advice and guidance to DNR leadership. Program areas include budget, federal aid, procurement, internal control, audit coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the staff of the Division and provides direction to department financial staff in the performance of work necessary to fulfill the mission of the Department, following best financial practices.
  • Serves on the Director’s management team, participating in policy and operational decisions relating to department-wide goals and objectives, as well as representing the department on various significant enterprise roles.

Requirements

  • Required Education and Experience: Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major. Two years of professional managerial experience.

Skills

Knowledge of state and federal financial regulations, policies and laws. Experience providing direction, supervision and oversight of staff. Experience providing direction and oversight of an organization's budget process, including policy formulation, strategic planning, monitoring, and budget analysis.
