Responsibilities
- Welcome guests by determining their coffee interests and needs.
- Educate guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu and answering questions.
- Sell coffee, coffee grinding, and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and demonstrating equipment operation.
- Prepare and sell coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and techniques for drinks such as espresso lungo, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
- Maintain inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply, stocking brewing equipment, and ensuring adequate supplies of pastries and cookies.
- Keep equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to organization standards and sanitation regulations.
- Improve quality results by evaluating and redesigning processes, implementing changes, and maintaining store appearance.
- Enhance the coffee shop’s reputation by accepting ownership of new requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
- Operate the POS system for at least 4 hours per shift.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks, including assisting with monthly store breakdowns for deep cleaning.
- Complete any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
Requirements
- Consistently exhibit courteous, respectful, and clear communication.

- Meet regular attendance requirements to complete job responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Possess basic reading, writing, math, and task completion skills.
- Demonstrate skills in compiling, coordination, following instructions, memorization, problem-solving, independent judgment, and decision-making.
- Flexibility to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends as business needs dictate.
- Minimum age of 16 years.
Qualifications
Previous barista experience preferred or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Demands
- Constantly standing, frequently walking, reaching overhead, bending, crouching, kneeling, and balancing during shifts.
- Occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent repetitive use of both hands, occasional light and firm grasping motions, and finger dexterity.
- Constant use of vision abilities, including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

Work Environment
- Work performed indoors, both alone and frequently with others.
- Face-to-face interactions, including verbal contact, during extended shifts around computer equipment and mechanical devices.
