Standardized Patient - Omaha
About the role
This role involves portraying patients in educational simulated encounters with students at Creighton University’s Health Sciences Campus. The goal is to provide realistic scenarios for students to learn and practice their clinical skills.
Responsibilities
- Recreate physical characteristics and memorize medical histories for simulated encounters.
- Receive and apply feedback on your performance from students.
- Provide constructive verbal and written feedback to students on their communication skills.
- Attend mandatory training sessions either in person or via Zoom.
- Participate in simulated clinical encounters and physical exams.
Requirements
- Meet specific patient criteria for the cases (diverse abilities and backgrounds welcome).
- Be punctual for events and training sessions.
- Communicate effectively both in-person and via technology (phone/email).
- Memorize and recall relevant patient information accurately.
- Willingness to provide constructive feedback to students.
Qualifications
- Ability to provide feedback in written and verbal forms.
- Willingness to provide students with constructive feedback.
- Ability to receive and apply feedback/evaluation on SP performance.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.

Schedule
Hours are flexible and depend on which events an SP chooses to participate in. Most events occur Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
