Responsibilities
- Must be highly dependable and punctual
- Demonstrate flexibility and reliability with scheduling and assignments especially during the training period
- Precisely follow written and verbal instruction
- Provide constructive feedback to medical students and colleagues
- Aid in the training process of other standardized patients when called upon
- Work in a professional manner when interacting with learners, faculty, supervisors, and peers
- Be comfortable having repeat non-invasive physical examination maneuvers performed on self for long periods of time
- Willingness to wear a hospital gown with only undergarments underneath, while on camera and/or observed live through an observation window or video monitor
- Accurately and consistently simulate all aspects of scenarios, including history of current problem/chief complaint, affect/behavior, and physical findings, in a standardized, accurate, reliable manner, and consistent manner
- Accurately and consistently complete checklists, daily cleaning logs of rooms, and training assignments
- Accept ongoing feedback from facilitators/supervisors and incorporate into case simulation
- Willingness to be audio and videotaped during simulations
- Must know how to follow the proper chain of command for the department if/when issues arise
- Have good decision-making skills when immediate supervision is not immediately available
- Have stable internet/cellular data/phone connection to attend meetings in regard to upcoming labs and virtual labs
- Accountability for other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Medical knowledge and acting skills are preferred but not required
