Staking Technician

About the role

We’re looking for a talented Staking Technician who loves a good challenge and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves—whether that means designing new services, mapping out upgrades, or answering the age-old question, “Can we run power there?” If you enjoy helping members, collaborating with electricians and engineers, and occasionally feeling like the person who knows the secret map of the entire service territory, this is the job for you.

Responsibilities

• Design and stake new construction projects
• Prepare work orders and permits
• Ensure all designs meet RUS and NESC standards
• Work closely with members, landowners, electricians, and local officials to secure easements, provide service guidance, resolve issues, and support project planning
• Assist with inspections
• Determine construction specifications
• Coordinate with Minnesota One Call
• Support emergency response needs

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or a minimum of 6 years of line construction experience
• Possession of a valid Class D driver's license at a minimum

Pay

The starting pay range for the position is $41.47 - $55.20 per hour.
