Slot Technician

About the role

The Slot Technician maintains and repairs all electronic slot equipment, as well as select equipment for Finance and Table Games operations. Responsibilities include installs, moves, removes, and modifications of related stands, signage, and machines. This position requires coordination with Slot Operations staff to ensure maximum efficiency and may involve travel between SGC properties.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all slot machines on the casino floor operate according to company standards.
• Rebuild parts/equipment during downtime and maintain assigned parts inventory.
• Circulate through assigned areas performing repairs as necessary.
• Keep slot and storage areas cleaned and organized.
• Set up and test all new slot products.
• Complete all regulatory/operational documents thoroughly and legibly.
• Maintain security of keys, tools, and equipment.
• Secure slot machine equipment and company assets at all times.
• Assist Finance department by maintaining and repairing currency and related equipment.
• Notify Cage Shift Managers/Cage Manager of maintenance and repairs performed.
• Track and record finance equipment repairs/maintenance on log sheets.
• Provide reports on parts or supplies needed for finance equipment.
• Assist Table Games Department by maintaining and repairing electronic equipment as requested.
• Conduct regular inspections of machines and equipment.
• Participate in the repair of progressive gaming and electronic displays.
• Maintain current understanding of information security policies and procedures.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patrons and communicate professionally.
• Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers, and staff.
• Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to all regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
• Complete all required SGC training programs within nine months of employment.
• Attend necessary meetings and vendor equipment training classes.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent GED required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Slot Technician in a licensed jurisdiction or two years’ experience in Electronics or a closely related field.
• Must complete internal testing and evaluation of the SGC Slot Technical training program.
• Superior communication and training skills with the ability to learn independently.
• Working knowledge of computer software applications and practical usage.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions related to monetary units and compute slot machine percentages.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
• Capable of using electronic test equipment and power tools.
• Frequently lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Maintain physical stamina and mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, loud casino environment.
• Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.

Pay

Starting rate: $17.92 per hour. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
