Stainless Steel Welder III/IV

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex welds using appropriate welding techniques across various materials and positions.
  • Lead welding operations, including planning, coordinating, and overseeing assigned welding tasks.
  • Train, mentor, and support junior welders to improve skill development and ensure quality workmanship.
  • Interpret and work independently from blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine the correct welding process and sequence.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, selecting the proper parameters, tools, and materials for each job.
  • Inspect completed welds to verify structural integrity, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, including those required for hazardous or high-risk environments.
  • Apply deep knowledge of welding codes, procedures, and regulatory standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in clean, safe, and operational conditions.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5+ years of welding experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Apply deep knowledge of welding codes, procedures, and regulatory standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).
  • Proven ability to lead, coordinate, or supervise welding activities.
  • Advanced understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, and fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents with minimal guidance.
  • Troubleshoot welding issues and provide technical solutions to maintain productivity and quality.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to welding procedures, inspections, and project progress.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and problem-solve on the job.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Welder, CWI, ASME qualifications).
  • Experience in high-hazard or industrial environments (manufacturing, construction, energy, etc.).
  • Familiarity with quality assurance processes and documentation.
