About the role
The Stage Operations Assistant supports the hang and focus of theatrical lighting for the Theatre, Dance, and Music Department productions at the Eisner Center. They also lead student crews in installing lighting in multiple performance venues and handle the load in of seating risers, audio equipment, and soft goods.
Responsibilities
- Support the hang and focus of theatrical lighting
- Lead student crews in installing theatrical lighting
- Collaborate with the Technical Director of Stage Operations on other technical elements of stage setups
- Supervise and guide student staff members
- Program and patch the lighting consoles (ETC IonXE)
Requirements
- At least one year of documented experience in theatrical lighting
- Ability to read and interpret lighting plots and install theatrical lighting
- Experience with ETC Ion or ETC IonXE lighting control consoles
Qualifications
- Supervisory experience related to theatrical lighting installation and leading a crew
- Experience with digital audio consoles
- Experience with ETCNet digital lighting systems
- Facility with working with undergraduate students
Skills
- Thorough understanding of theatrical lighting principles
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Benefits
- Flexible schedule between August – May, not to exceed 100 hours each semester
Pay
$18-21/hr
