About the Role

Kirkwood Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Staffing Coordinator to join our leadership team. As part of our exciting transition to new ownership by OPCO Skilled Management, we're building a strong team dedicated to providing exceptional care through consistent staffing and outstanding employee support. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining employee schedules to ensure appropriate staffing coverage throughout the facility while supporting quality resident care.

The Staffing Coordinator works closely with the Director of Nursing, Human Resources, payroll, and department leaders to manage staffing needs, reduce overtime, and ensure compliance with staffing requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly staffing schedules
  • Ensure all nursing shifts are appropriately staffed with qualified team members
  • Fill open shifts quickly and efficiently while minimizing overtime
  • Coordinate staffing assignments to meet resident care needs
  • Monitor attendance, call-ins, overtime, and staffing trends
  • Maintain accurate staffing records and daily staffing reports
  • Communicate staffing updates with nursing leadership and department managers
  • Work closely with Human Resources regarding new hires, orientation, and staffing needs
  • Provide facility tours for newly hired employees during onboarding
  • Process schedule changes, shift swaps, and vacation requests
  • Assist with payroll review to ensure scheduling accuracy
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information
  • Promote positive employee relations through professional communication and teamwork
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous staffing, scheduling, healthcare, payroll, human resources, or administrative experience preferred
  • Skilled nursing, rehabilitation, hospital, long-term care, or healthcare scheduling experience is highly preferred
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling software
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
