Staffing Assistant, Evenings

Responsibilities

• Monitors workload and productivity of day-to-day staffing and scheduling for System Nursing Services to ensure resource allocation meets Hours Per Patient Day targets and patient care standards.
• Collaborates with Directors and Managers to resolve staffing issues.
• Collects ongoing data for long-term trending and benchmarking of resource utilization for retrospective analysis.
• Maintains records for each nursing unit reflecting staff composition, vacancy rate, and turnover rate.
• Ensures integrity and availability of supplemental staffing resources.
• Coordinates phases of the Scheduling System, including timeliness of data entry, accuracy, and security for Shore Health System.
• Coordinates staffing with managers to ensure nursing hours per patient day targets are met.
• Prepares schedules for float and system-wide per diem staff.
• Monitors float/per diem staff for completion of annual mandatories, required work hours, and manages payroll.
• Prepares monthly staffing and scheduling reports, investigates and justifies variances.
• Ensures completion of computerized variance reports for hours per patient day tracking.
• Coordinates One Umms Staffing and Patient Safety Companions, ensuring all necessary documentation for health, mandatory, and competency requirements is present.
• Coordinates coverage for patient sitters as requested.
• Communicates effectively and professionally, demonstrating respect for other health-team members.

Requirements

• High School Graduate (Associates Degree preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs and statistics to analyze data.
• Basic understanding of regulatory agencies' requirements in patient care delivery.

Pay

Pay Range: $18.57–$25.99 per hour. Other compensation includes applicable shift differentials.
