About the role

Nema Health is a survivor- and clinician-led virtual clinic dedicated to revolutionizing PTSD and trauma care. Our mission is to guide trauma survivors at every step of their healing journey, pioneering the remote, intensive delivery of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

Responsibilities

  • Unparalleled Professional Growth: Receive extensive internal training and weekly CPT technique supervision directly from Dr. Kate Chard, co-inventor of CPT.
  • Clinical Excellence & Rigor: Participate in cutting-edge research, program development, and receive ongoing mentorship from renowned national clinical leaders.
  • True Impact: Deliver highly effective, intensive care to survivors who deserve the most compassionate, evidence-based treatment available.
  • The Intensive Care Model: To maximize recovery, patients are seen multiple times a week for the duration of their treatment (approximately 6 weeks).
  • Direct Patient Care Expectation: 26 hours per week dedicated to face-to-face clinical sessions.
  • Hiring Practice: We hire on a rolling basis, continuously reviewing applications and onboarding exceptional therapists as our clinic expands nationally.
  • Assessment & Triage: Conduct thorough, precise patient diagnostic evaluations and effectively triage patients to Nema’s intensive programs or coordinate appropriate external referrals based on clinical need.
  • Evidence-Based Treatment: Deliver high-fidelity CPT and other evidence-based psychotherapies tailored for PTSD and co-occurring conditions.
  • Risk Management: Confidently manage clinical risk, demonstrate strong crisis-intervention skills, and execute care escalations with precision when necessary.
  • Group Facilitation: Lead specialized skills groups (e.g., DBT skills groups) for graduates of CPT to support long-term healing.
  • Care Coordination: Partner collaboratively with the administrative team on logistics, external referrals, and direct cross-provider care coordination.
  • Documentation: Maintain meticulous, accurate, and timely clinical documentation and measurement-based care records.
  • Team Growth: Provide strategic input on the recruiting, onboarding, and overall workplace experience of the growing clinical team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Clinical Operations team and Clinical Leadership to optimize processes, elevate quality assurance, and ensure seamless communication.

Requirements

  • Licensure: Active independent clinical license in California (CA), Michigan (MI), Massachusetts (MA), New York (NY), and/or Texas (TX).
  • Note: Therapists must be willing to be cross-licensed in up to 10 states. Nema’s administrative team heavily assists with the licensing process; therapists remain responsible for tracking their own CEUs.

  • An independently licensed Master’s-level clinician (LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LPC, etc.) with a strong clinical track record.

Core Competencies

  • Prior formal training and certification in CPT.
  • Robust training in DBT or other trauma-focused modalities (e.g., Prolonged Exposure, EMDR).
  • Prior clinical supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience working within an early-stage, startup, or fast-paced digital health environment.
  • Willingness to work two days per week from 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM and three days per week from 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM in your local time zone to accommodate national patient availability.
