FEM designs integrate various Qorvo RF technologies, including Power Amplifiers, Low Noise Amplifiers, multi-throw Switches, SAW, and BAW filters. The position also requires developing and supporting software applications for Windows and MacOS environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist design and test teams in achieving optimal module performance, including part bring-up, test plan creation, and full characterization using state-of-the-art RF/microwave test equipment.
  • Interface between Design Engineering and Characterization Engineering to review data and differentiate between test issues and performance issues.
  • Delegate test tasks to engineers/technicians, ensuring work aligns with priorities discussed with the Design Engineering team.
  • Provide clear and concise reports using the latest data analysis tools.
  • Troubleshoot complex DC and RF test benches during day-to-day operations.
  • Develop/modify automated test equipment (ATE) software and hardware for special test situations, collaborating with test and characterization engineers to expedite release.
  • Develop/modify standalone applications for post-processing and analysis of collected data or create new automation tools.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement in test automation, accuracy, and speed.
  • Document test system and software designs and train team members.
  • Support lab improvements through 5S continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain bench and rack equipment, including working with hand tools and moving test equipment.
  • Follow RF connector care and RF measurement best practices.

Qualifications

  • MS in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or BS with equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in testing and evaluating RF/Microwave components and/or integrated modules in the RF semiconductor space.
  • Working knowledge of object-oriented programming languages such as C#, Python, or VB.NET.
  • Proficiency with test equipment: vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, noise figure meters, oscilloscopes, and digital multimeters.
  • Basic knowledge of DC and RF measurements (S-parameters, power, noise figure, harmonics, intermodulation distortion).
  • Ability to use data visualization tools (Spotfire, JMP, Excel) and presentation tools (PowerPoint).

Skills

  • Strong collaboration and work ethic.
  • Comfortable delegating tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Self-starter and highly motivated.
  • Effective organization and project planning skills.
