About the role

Collins Aerospace Test Equipment Services team is seeking a technician to support the calibration, repair, troubleshooting, and monitoring of test equipment to ensure performance and safety standards are met. This position involves working with a variety of highly complex technical tasks under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate and repair test equipment related to Physical/Dimensional Test Equipment, including temperature, torque, pressure, force, mass, and more.
  • Read electrical schematics and work under minimal supervision.
  • Perform highly complex technical tasks requiring substantial understanding of engineering techniques and objectives.
  • Provide technical recommendations for capital, expense, and service acquisitions.
  • Work from minimal documentation or verbal instructions.
  • Assist engineers with design and development of new calibration processes.
  • Maintain a monthly/weekly workload of calibration and repair.
  • Support on-site calibration and repairs at various surrounding sites.
  • Work with electrical, physical, and mechanical test equipment.
  • Apply electronic theory to configure, model, layout, prototype, build, test, troubleshoot, and modify electronic products.
  • Act as a member of a technical team, utilizing effective communication with leadership and customers.
  • Promote team decision-making.

Requirements

  • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post-high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic circuitry and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with test equipment such as pressure/vacuum gauges, temperature indicators, thermocouples, scales, and torque tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair using off prints or written work instructions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail to ensure order accuracy.
  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to reorganize priorities as needed.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $53,100 – $100,900 USD.
