Staff Systems Engineer – Federal

This role will require 2-3 days in the office at our San Diego, CA OR Kirkland, WA Office Location. Note that this position requires passing a ServiceNow background screening, USFedPASS (US Federal Personnel Authorization Screening Standards), and due to Federal requirements, only US citizens, US naturalized citizens or US Permanent Residents, holding a green card, will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Build software tools to automate deployment and testing of compute infrastructure
- Scale critical services to support customer growth
- Apply test-driven development principles and help us move closer to our goal of continuous delivery
- Research and implement new open-source and commercial tools, technologies and methodologies
- Collaborate with peer teams who have built world class networking and orchestration solutions
Qualifications
- Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving
- 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience
- Familiarity with OpenStack
- A strong background in programming with Python
- A strong background in Linux systems architecture and engineering
- Experience managing infrastructure as code with terraform
- Experience with applying a configuration management platform such as Puppet at scale
- Understanding of core concepts around Kubernetes and Docker
- Prior experience in software development or release management is highly desirable
- Familiarity with virtualization and cloud infrastructure technologies
Pay and Benefits
For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $163,600 – $286,300, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits.
