Staff Systems Engineer

This position is for a Staff Systems Engineer working closely with a talented team to deliver a complex software application into operations, primarily supporting the operations for a software system.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction and requirement transparency across development teams
  • Perform requirements management including requirements creation, tracking, flow down, coverage, verification tracking, and compliance matrices
  • Develop test procedures to formally verify system requirements for sell-off events
  • Decompose system requirements and collaborate with multi-disciplined, distributed teams to generate efficient and scalable solutions
  • Support the development, implementation, and verification of mission capabilities
  • Participate in the development and execution of program milestones events such as customer meetings, internal and formal government testing events, and discrepancy report (DR) review boards
  • Conduct testing events of software solutions and generate test result documentation
  • Support operations of software with tasks such as enterprise test events and user integration and onboarding

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems engineering, IT, or related engineering field
  • At least 7 years of professional experience working in software development or systems engineering
  • Effective cross-organizational communicator with the ability to work well in a small team, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop requirements
  • Ability to develop test procedures that verify requirements
  • Ability to develop tracing between requirements, code, and verification
  • Working knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology

Qualifications

  • Adjudicated Polygraph
  • Current IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or CASP)
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with an ability to engage with virtual teams
  • Familiarity with Cloud Architectures and deployment requirements for US DoD
  • Experience with using automated tests to sell off formal requirement verification
  • Experience with government Site Acceptance process and procedure
  • Experience in working with software-defined interfaces that use either XML or JSON to both document and implement
  • Experience with SATCOM or GEOINT systems
  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to balance technical requirements with business needs
  • Experience in the operational deployment of multi-product baselines and functionality
  • Experience with Cameo modeling tools
  • Experience developing a software architecture using digital tools
  • Experience with DOORS or DOOR Next Gen

Pay

The proposed salary range for this position is $98,500–$206,800. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.

  • Up to 10% travel, primarily local
