Staff Surveyor

About the role

BKF Engineers is seeking a Staff Surveyor to join our innovative surveying projects. Based in California and the Portland area, we serve a wide range of clients including transportation, water resources, land development, government, and federal sectors.

Responsibilities

• Create mapping deliverables such as boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, plats, and legal descriptions
• Post-process field data collected using total station, GPS, levels, 3D laser scanners, and unmanned aerial systems
• Travel to various job sites and offices as needed
• Assist with special projects as needed
• May require flexible hours and travel between BKF offices and other off-site locations

Requirements

• 0-3 years of office surveying experience
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or LSIT preferred
• Knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment
• Proficient in CAD software, especially Autodesk Civil 3D
• Experience with construction staking, including reading plans, construction calculations, and preparing cut sheets
• Helpful but not required: Experience processing laser scanning data, including registration and 3D modeling

Qualifications

• Must be able to regularly talk, hear, and operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse
• Occasionally lift, pull/push, and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations
• Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting
• Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
• Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required

Benefits

The typical base salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $87,000.00 annualized, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location. This is an hourly position paid bi-weekly. Benefits include:
