About the Opportunity
The Staff Strategic Sourcing Manager - Logistics is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that optimize logistics-related spend, including warehousing, freight, and returns. This role plays a critical part in managing supplier relationships and commercial agreements to reduce costs and support service level and scalability objectives. The position ensures logistics sourcing decisions align with operational priorities and financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Own sourcing strategy and commercial execution across logistics, warehousing, freight, returns, and related categories
- Lead RFQ, RFP, and competitive bidding processes including supplier selection, pricing negotiations, SLA alignment, and contract terms
- Deliver cost reductions through benchmarking, cost modeling, and vendor negotiations
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting for spend, savings, supplier performance, and cost drivers
- Establish KPIs and supplier scorecards; lead business reviews to drive accountability
- Collaborate with Logistics, Finance, Operations, and Program teams to align sourcing with service requirements and business priorities
- Enhance supplier governance and contract management for better decision-making and long-term partnerships
- Standardize sourcing processes and supplier management practices to improve scalability
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field
- 8 to 10+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, or supply chain with indirect spend ownership
- Proven experience in supplier negotiations, RFQ/RFP management, and contracting
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and project management skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with cross-functional influence
- Experience sourcing logistics, freight, warehousing, 3PL, returns, or related services
- Knowledge of global trade compliance and integration of cost tradeoffs into sourcing strategy
- Preferred: Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments; familiarity with contract manufacturing and global supply chains; managing suppliers across regions; knowledge of procurement and ERP systems
Pay
- Region 1: $198,050 - $230,000
- Region 2: $180,000 - $210,000
- Region 3: $169,150 - $190,000
Pay is determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions.
