About the role

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Open Source team in Sunnyvale, CA. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain open-source software projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain open-source software projects
  • Contribute to open-source communities through active participation in forums, issue tracking systems, and pull requests
  • Write high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code
  • Participate in code reviews and mentoring junior engineers
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in open-source software development

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience
  • Experience with open-source software development
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Knowledge of at least one programming language commonly used in open-source projects (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Ruby)
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI)
  • Understanding of software development best practices and principles

Skills

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in open-source projects (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Ruby)
