About the role
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Open Source team in Sunnyvale, CA. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain open-source software projects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain open-source software projects
- Contribute to open-source communities through active participation in forums, issue tracking systems, and pull requests
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code
- Participate in code reviews and mentoring junior engineers
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in open-source software development
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience
- Experience with open-source software development
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Qualifications
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Knowledge of at least one programming language commonly used in open-source projects (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Ruby)
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI)
- Understanding of software development best practices and principles
Skills
