Senior Software Engineer, Open Source (US)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Open Source team in Sunnyvale, CA. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, maintain, and contribute to open source projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality software components for open source projects
• Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and product managers to define and implement new features
• Contribute to open source communities through documentation, issue tracking, and pull requests
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in open source development

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience with at least one major open source project
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications

• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in open source projects (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Rust)
• Understanding of software design patterns and principles

Skills

• Open source contribution experience
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
