Staff Software Engineer, Backend (Consumer - Prediction Markets)

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, and reliability of backend systems for order management and market resolution
• Architect distributed systems with strict correctness guarantees
• Drive migration to a fully the company-operated exchange and clearing platform
• Lead collaboration with Product, Compliance, and Risk teams to meet regulatory requirements
• Shape engineering standards for code quality and system design
• Identify shared infrastructure opportunities across teams

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend software engineering experience in high-availability, low-latency systems
• Proven track record with systems requiring financial correctness like order management or clearing
• Experience leading complex, multi-quarter technical projects as a senior decision-maker
• Deep proficiency in a backend language (e.g., Go, Java) and strong fundamentals in distributed systems
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and elevate team engineers
