Job Summary
The Seismic Subsurface Data Management role at Murphy Oil Corporation requires a self-starter capable of managing diverse challenges in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include managing seismic data lifecycle, adhering to workflows, collaborating with vendors, and ensuring compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manage seismic data management, QC, organization, and loading to Kingdom and Petrel
- Follow Murphy seismic data management workflows for data handling, including naming conventions, storage formatting, and load request tracking
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and support seismic data needs across Exploration and Subsurface business units
- Conduct gap analysis on data repositories and project databases to identify data migration needs
- Interface with vendors to solve problems
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience, Computer Science, or related field or 15+ years of seismic data management experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in oil and gas industry
- Fundamental knowledge of seismic formats and standards
- Proficiency in Kingdom, Petrel, and other relevant applications like ArcGIS, Paleoscan, DUG, Geolog, and HampsonRussell
- Solid understanding of E&P business, particularly in New Ventures, Exploration, and Appraisal activities
- Ability to take all applicable safety precautions and perform essential physical tasks
