Staff Scientist, Single-Cell Multiomics Product Development

Job Responsibilities

Lead assay development tasks to launch high-quality products for the BD Rhapsody™ platform, including feasibility studies, process and QC development, optimization, Verification & Validation, and tech transfer support.

Drive the development work in collaboration with wet lab scientists, bioinformatics scientists, commercial and operational partners.

Design and perform hands-on experiments to achieve development objectives.

Independently analyze and interpret single-cell genomics data and present results to cross-functional teams.

Compile analyses and develop protocols, technical notes, posters, and presentations showcasing Rhapsody platform performance.

Provide scientific expertise to optimize current products and support the development of new product applications.

Qualifications

  • Required Skills
    • Doctoral degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, or a related field
    • 8+ years of research experience, including 5+ years of industry experience in a related field
    • Extensive experience with RNA-seq and other next-generation sequencing techniques, including library preparation, sequencing, and data analysis
    • Experience with genomic assays using FFPE (formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded) samples
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
    • Demonstrated ability to develop assay products, critically analyze data, and maintain excellent experimental records
  • Preferred Skills
    • FFPE sample handling expertise
    • Experience with assay/reagent product development
    • Experience with spatial genomics and/or proteomics
    • Experience generating assays for biopharma/translational market
    • Immunology background
