Staff Scientist, Scientific Partnerships & Growth - Immerse Lab

Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement & Adoption
- Lead high-impact scientific engagements with key biopharma, academic, and translational research partners across the Kendall Square ecosystem
- Drive instrument evaluation, adoption, and expansion through hands-on demonstrations, pilot studies, and collaborative projects
- Convert strategic collaborations into reference accounts, publications, and expanded use cases
- Scientific Demonstration & Validation
- Design and execute application-focused experiments that showcase the capabilities of Waters Biosciences platforms in real-world research settings
- Deliver compelling instrument demonstrations, proof-of-concept studies, and technical validations to support customer decision-making
- Generate high-quality data to enable customer adoption, field enablement, and sales conversations
- Collaboration-Driven Growth
- Establish and grow collaborations that increase visibility, credibility, and demand within the ecosystem
- Drive co-authored publications, case studies, and scientific endorsements that support commercial expansion
- Build and expand a strong network of strategic scientific partners and key accounts in the Northeast region
- Customer Insights → Commercial & Product Impact
- Translate customer needs, workflow gaps, and adoption barriers into actionable insights for product development and commercialization strategies
- Influence product positioning, messaging, and solution fit through direct customer engagement
- Partner closely with commercial, marketing, and R&D teams to accelerate market adoption
- Immerse Lab Leadership
- Operate and maintain Waters Biosciences instrumentation at the Immerse Lab to support customer demonstrations and collaborations
- Lead onsite visits, executive briefings, and scientific workshops for customers and partners
- Deliver a best-in-class, high-impact customer experience within the Immerse environment
- Scientific Thought Leadership
- Represent Waters Biosciences at conferences, workshops, and key customer engagements as a recognized scientific expert
- Publish and present application-driven findings that reinforce credibility, differentiation, and adoption
- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate closely with field applications, sales, marketing, and product teams to drive aligned execution
- Serve as a regional subject matter expert in flow cytometry and single-cell analysis, supporting key accounts as needed
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to a culture of scientific excellence and customer focus
Requirements
- PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in Immunology, Oncology, or a related life science field with 5+ years of relevant experience (or Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant industry experience)
- 6+ years of flow cytometry experience designing, performing, and analyzing single cell analysis assays
- 4+ years' experience in spectral flow cytometry
- Proven track record of scientific publications and/or leading customer-facing scientific collaborations
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence both scientific and business audiences
- Strong organizational and execution skills, with the ability to manage complex collaborations and priorities
