Staff RN - MedSurg, Pulmonary
Part-time position on the Pulmonary Unit in Athens, GA. Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Sign-on bonus available.
About the role
The clinical staff on the growing Pulmonary Unit work closely with hospitalists, pulmonologists, and respiratory therapists to provide top-notch care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory issues. In the state-of-the-art new Main Tower, the Pulmonary nurse provides high-quality nursing care to acute care patients utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The nurse functions within the framework of the organization’s policies and procedures and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The Pulmonary nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice and coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
- Functions within the framework of the organization’s policies and procedures and demonstrates professional growth and accountability.
- Maintains standards of practice and coordinates patient care activities of all assigned staff to ensure quality nursing care.
Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs. Extenuating circumstances may require lower or higher ratios.
Requirements
- Current Georgia RN license or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing Required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Preferred.
- No prior work experience required; new graduates eligible Required.
- Nursing experience in a hospital setting Preferred.
- One year of hospital experience Preferred for PRN positions.
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable.
