Job Summary

The Registered Nurse leads the health care team, providing professional nursing care according to established standards and policies. They are expected to uphold organizational policies and demonstrate flexibility and leadership.

About the Role

Responsible for developing and implementing individualized patient care plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining a safe and functional work environment.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a leader of the health care team, delegating tasks and holding subordinates accountable.
• Utilizes communication strategies to resolve issues and participate in problem identification and resolution.
• Mentors and coaches team members, sharing responsibility and authority.
• Monitors patient progress, revises care plans based on patient conditions, and ensures optimal pain control and patient comfort.
• Ensures patient safety, adhering to the five rights, preventing falls, decubitus ulcers, and nosocomial infections.
• Communicates discharge instructions clearly and educates patients and families about their medical management plans.
• Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient findings and progress.
• Participates in departmental performance improvement activities and shares responsibility for systems improvement.

Requirements

• Minimum six (6) months of acute/sub-acute facility experience within the last three (3) years.
• Registered Nurse License (California).
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Provider Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
• Training or experience in chemotherapy preferred.

Full-time, Night Shift: 7:15 PM - 7:45 AM, Back-up 8-hour Shift: 11:15 PM - 7:45 AM
