Responsibilities

  • Mouse handling, and collection of experimental behavioral/neural data (photometry recordings, optogenetic/chemogenetic behavioral experiments, electrophysiology recordings, real-time fluoroscopy, other behavioral assays)
  • Processing and analysis of neural and behavioral data (using MATLAB and Python)
  • Perform tissue processing and histology of brain and peripheral samples (transcardial perfusion, tissue sectioning and mounting, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, microscopy image acquisition)

Qualifications

  • SRA I: BA/BS in a related science and knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic related scientific techniques and procedures as learned from research laboratory experience.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required.
  • Maintenance of accurate, complete, and legible records.
  • Ability to work independently or with close supervision.
  • Ability to work in-person on a daily basis.
  • Ability to handle and manipulate mice routinely.
  • Eagerness to learn new techniques.
  • SRA II: In addition to the above, one or more years of recent, directly related work experience following degree completion, utilizing the techniques or methods required by the position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
