Research Study Coordinator, Gastroenterology
Job Summary
Captures data for biomedical & social-behavioral research studies under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI). Ensures adherence to Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
Specific Responsibilities
- Participates in research study planning and execution, including participant recruitment and retention.
- Obtains informed consent and administers tests/questionnaires according to protocols.
- Collects, compiles, tabulates, and processes responses; extracts and analyzes data from medical charts.
- Completes basic clinical procedures like drawing blood and obtaining blood pressure.
- Collects, records, reviews, and summarizes research data; prepares reports and tables/graphs for investigators and sponsors.
- Writes portions of grant applications and co-authors scientific papers; completes documents related to regulatory guidelines.
- Processes payments for research participants and negotiates grant funding; coordinates reimbursements for travel, consultant pay, and gift cards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university with a major in social or health science or related field; OR Appropriate combination of education and experience with 2 years of research study or relevant experience.
- Master’s or higher degree in a major such as social or health science or related field; OR Appropriate combination of education and experience.
- Completion of NU’s IRB CITI training and ongoing re-certification every 3 years.

- Ability to complete Northwestern Memorial Hospital Research Access Program requirements.

Pay
Target hiring range: $19.89 - 27.97 per hour. Salary determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market data.
