Staff Research Assistant
About the role
The Department of Molecular Genetics and Genome Sciences is seeking a Staff Research Assistant to join their research team.
Responsibilities
- Lead genomics research projects including:
- Development of novel computer programs to improve the contemporary analytical practices of single-cell and spatial omics data;
- Hypothesis-driven large-scale data analysis;
- Development of high-throughput screening experiments.
The preferred candidate will be expected to have knowledge in genomics, bioinformatics, and cell biology and have experience in biomedical research, experimental or computational.
The preferred candidate will also be expected to perform team science in collaborations with other groups, and thus good written and oral communication skills are expected.
Requirements
- Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Psychology, Engineering, Computer Science, Sociology, or a related discipline aligned with the specific area of research or project focus)
- 1 year of experience supporting research or working in a laboratory setting
Equivalency/Substitution: Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree.

Pay
Pay Range: Salary range of $33,600 - $43,700 dependent on qualifications and experience.
