Staff Research Assistant

About the role

The Vu Lab in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology is seeking a motivated Staff Research Assistant to join our team. Our research focuses on the molecular basis of antifungal drug resistance mechanisms in Candida species.

Responsibilities

• Conduct lab-bench and animal research work
• Support wet-lab research activities
• Work with small animals, such as mice, if applicable
• Apply a background in bioinformatics where relevant

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Psychology, Engineering, Computer Science, Sociology, or a related discipline aligned with the specific area of research or project focus)
• At least 1 year of experience supporting research or working in a laboratory setting

Qualifications

• Prior experience with molecular genetics and aseptic techniques
• Prior experience working with small animals, such as mice, is preferred but not required
• A background in bioinformatics is a plus

Targeted salary range of $35,000 - $43,700 dependent on qualifications and experience
