Staff Radiological Technologist (35 Hour) #260601-9381HN-001

Position Highlights

This position is full-time, following a first shift schedule, 35 hours a week, Monday - Friday, and 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

The role is located at Osborn Correctional Institution in Somers, CT.

You will perform technical radiographic procedures.

• Apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis.
• Produce radiographs.
• Position individuals.
• Provide immobilization devices.
• Select proper technical factors on an individual basis.
• Select and operate equipment as directed.
• Develop film by automatic and manual processing.
• Practice sterile techniques and apply infection control policies.
• Maintain adequate records.
• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work area.
• Secure and return special equipment.
• Assist physician in administering opaque media.
• Assist in performing first aid as necessary.
• May be responsible for delegated areas or performance of special procedures.
• May perform preventive maintenance and quality assurance measurement of equipment.
• May operate patient monitoring equipment such as an electrocardiograph.

May perform related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of radiographic procedures and equipment.
• Radiographic film processing techniques.
• Infection control policies and procedures.
• Individual monitoring equipment.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment as needed in individual cases.
• Follow oral and written instructions.

Must meet requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists and hold current Connecticut state license.

Experience working with Correctional or Forensic population.

Work Environment

• May be required to lift and position individuals.
