Staff Psychologist

About the Role

Clinical (Staff) Psychologists at CVPH provide psychological services to patients across various clinical sites, including inpatient psychiatric, medical-surgical, or rehabilitation units; the emergency department; outpatient programs; and general, primary, and/or specialty clinics. Specific duties are determined by the site and align with network departmental goals and objectives.

Services may include diagnostic evaluations, focused clinical assessment, psychological intervention, staff consultation, clinical supervision, program development, and oversight. Clinical psychologists may also participate in multidisciplinary organizational initiatives and program evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic evaluations and focused clinical assessments.
• Deliver psychological interventions tailored to patient needs.
• Consult with staff and provide clinical supervision.
• Develop and oversee programs in alignment with departmental goals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary organizational initiatives and program evaluation.

Requirements

• Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA/CPA accredited program or equivalent. A Doctorate from an APA/CPA accredited Counseling Psychology program may be considered if training aligns with role requirements.
• Clinical License in New York State as a clinical psychologist.
• Postgraduate experience in a clinical psychiatric setting, including clinical supervision by a licensed clinician.
• Training and experience working with patients with diverse needs and behavioral challenges.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supervising Clinical Psychology graduate students, interns/residents, and/or postdoctoral fellows.
