About the role
DSJ Global is currently partnered with a leading nutrition brand who is looking to add a new Staff Project Engineer to their team in the greater Greensboro, NC area. The Staff Project Engineer will support engineering initiatives within a modern manufacturing and innovation facility. This role operates in a cross-functional environment and focuses on executing and improving engineering projects related to processing, packaging, and warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Support the development, design, installation, and commissioning of process and packaging equipment lines
- Analyze and improve machine performance, processes, and mechanical systems through data-driven decision-making
- Collaborate with suppliers to source and procure equipment and components to required specifications
- Partner with internal manufacturing teams and external contractors to ensure operational consistency, product quality, and safety
- Troubleshoot equipment, materials, and process-related challenges in coordination with cross-functional teams (Quality, Operations, Maintenance, etc.)
- Develop and execute testing protocols, including process capability trials, to support commercial implementation
- Support equipment validation and qualification activities (e.g., FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ) to ensure compliance with operational and regulatory standards
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for processing and packaging operations
- Collaborate with manufacturing, technical operations, and R&D teams to scale new products and ensure process compatibility
- Identify and implement innovative technologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Capture and standardize engineering best practices for future projects
- Support multiple concurrent projects and ensure alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality expectations
- Perform additional duties as needed
- Lead and coordinate project teams consisting of engineers, technicians, and external contractors
- Provide oversight of contract personnel and ensure successful project execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- 7+ years of experience in equipment, process, or manufacturing engineering
- Experience in regulated industries such as food, dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, or similar
- Proven experience managing facility or capital projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution of 10M+ in scope
- Knowledge of materials, equipment, and process impacts on manufacturing performance
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to optimize equipment performance and productivity
