Position Overview
We are actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Professional to join our dynamic team. This role offers a significant opportunity for a skilled professional to apply and further refine their expertise across a diverse portfolio of environmental, civil, geotechnical, geo-structural, and construction materials testing projects.
Key Responsibilities
Apply and further develop advanced technical skills in areas such as comprehensive field investigations (e.g., subsurface explorations, sampling protocols), sophisticated data analysis, technical report generation, and interpretation of complex engineering specifications.
Contribute to robust data collection and analytical processes to inform project optimization and identify efficiency gains.
Proactively engage with clients to understand evolving project scopes, effectively communicate technical findings, and manage expectations.
Champion the firm's rigorous quality standards by meticulously reviewing project data, ensuring strict adherence to established protocols, and implementing comprehensive quality checks on all project deliverables.
Take an active role in developing and managing detailed project plans and schedules, effectively allocating resources, monitoring progress, and proactively identifying and addressing potential delays to ensure the timely and successful completion of project components.
Routinely identify and assess potential project risks, developing and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
Ensure stringent adherence to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, permits, and industry standards, maintaining a proactive stance on compliance.
Actively lead and contribute within interdisciplinary project teams, fostering effective collaboration with engineers, geologists, scientists, and technicians.
Leverage your understanding of contract provisions, assisting in the negotiation and management of relationships with sub-consultants and vendors.
Leverage project experiences and professional network to identify potential new project opportunities, actively contributing to proposal development and client engagement, supporting the firm's strategic growth initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field of study from an ABET-accredited institution.
1-5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in relevant fields.
Possession of Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Geologist-in-Training (GIT) certification, with a clear path towards obtaining Professional Engineer (PE) or ASBOG Professional Geologist (PG) licensure.
Required to travel regularly to local and regional project sites (typically within South Carolina and surrounding states) and perform extensive fieldwork under varying environmental conditions, including adverse weather, uneven terrain, and potentially hazardous environments, while adhering strictly to health and safety protocols.
