About the role
Kleinfelder is seeking a Staff Geotechnical Professional to join our team in either Raleigh, North Carolina or Charlotte, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of geotechnical engineering or geology experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in field assignments including boring layout and utility clearance, coordination with drilling contractors, supervision of drilling and geotechnical field investigations, logging of borings and test pits.
- Absorb and compile lab testing assignment, compilation of lab and field testing results.
- Perform geotechnical engineering analysis under supervision including soil/rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, settlement, ground improvement, and geologic hazard evaluation.
- Prepare geotechnical reports.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point (preferred).
- An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors.
Qualifications

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point (preferred).
- An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or Mining Engineering, or Geology.
- MS Geotechnical Engineering/Geology is a plus.

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The position requires 60% to 70% travel.
