About the role

We're looking for a Staff Product Marketing Manager for our Security portfolio at Fastly. Reporting to the Director, Product Marketing: Security, AI and Emerging Technology, you will own go-to-market strategy, messaging, and positioning for Fastly's application security portfolio, including Next-Gen WAF, DDoS protection, Bot Management, and TLS/compliance adjacent security capabilities.

Security, for Fastly, has its own distinct buyer (CISOs, security engineers, and compliance stakeholders) and its own competitive set, with purchasing decisions shaped by different budget holders and evaluation criteria than the rest of Fastly's portfolio. In partnership with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing, you will drive go-to-market initiatives and launches for our fast-growing security product line, positioning Fastly as a credible challenger to legacy security vendors.

Responsibilities

  • GTM Launch Execution: Design, enable, execute, and measure product launches and go-to-market plans for Fastly's security product line.
  • Messaging & Positioning: Own messaging and positioning for Fastly's security solutions, developing compelling narratives that resonate with security buyers and reflect what they need to succeed.
  • Competitive Differentiation: Position Fastly's Next-Gen WAF as a developer-friendly, low false-positive alternative to legacy WAFs.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Messaging: Address compliance and regulatory messaging relevant to procurement, legal, and other halo personas involved in security purchasing decisions.
  • Cross-Sell Narrative: Build cross-sell narratives that help existing CDN customers understand the value of adopting Fastly's security solutions.
  • Sales Enablement: Partner with the sales and enablement teams to create trainings, slide decks, and other assets they can use in their sales cycles.
  • Market Positioning: Apply competitive intelligence and market context from Portfolio Intelligence to optimally position Fastly's security products and features.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure product strategy, messaging, and packaging are aligned and effective.
  • Content & Campaign Creation: Create assets with the Growth Marketing and the Campaign teams for use across the buyer journey.
  • Product Evangelism: Deliver presentations to the public on Fastly’s unique and differentiated security story.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience, with at least 3+ years of relevant product marketing experience.
  • Experience in cybersecurity and knowledge of security buyer personas required.
  • Technical aptitude along with an understanding of and enthusiasm for application security, SaaS, and DevOps.
  • Strong storytelling skills, including excellent written and spoken communication.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and drive.
