Staff Product Manager Occupant Position Experience
About the role
The Role As Staff Product Manager, Occupant Positioning Experience, you will lead product strategy and execution for seating and occupant positioning experiences inside the vehicle cabin. You will help define customer needs, shape requirements, and guide cross-functional teams in delivering experiences that are intuitive, comfortable, and reliable. This role sits at the intersection of customer experience, system behavior, and vehicle integration. You will work closely with design, engineering, program, safety, and quality partners to make sound product decisions, manage tradeoffs, and drive alignment from concept through launch.
Responsibilities
- Lead product strategy and roadmap for occupant positioning and seating-related experiences
- Define product requirements, priorities, success metrics, and validation plans based on customer insights, research, and data
- Partner with Design, Engineering, Program, Safety, and Quality to deliver high-quality customer experiences
- Drive alignment across cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders on scope, priorities, risks, and tradeoffs
- Balance customer value, technical feasibility, cost, timing, and safety considerations in product decisions
- Support product delivery through planning, launch readiness, issue triage, and post-launch improvement
- Communicate product direction and execution status clearly to both working teams and leadership
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience delivering technology products
- Experience defining product requirements, priorities, and roadmaps in cross-functional environments
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority across design, engineering, program management, and other stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints into clear product direction
- Experience using research, data, and metrics to inform product decisions
- Comfort working through ambiguity and making principled tradeoffs
Qualifications
- Experience leading customer-facing products in complex, cross-functional environments
- Experience working across hardware and software teams to deliver integrated product experiences
- Automotive, consumer electronics, or other advanced product development experience
- MBA or other advanced degree is a plus

Pay
The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area. The salary range for this role is $134,700 to $245,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Schedule
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week, at minimum. This position will be located in Mountain View, CA or Warren, MI.
Company Vehicle
Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.
