Staff Product Analyst

About the role

The Staff Product Analyst will lead the analytical strategy for autonomy and commercial performance, setting the metric frameworks, measurement systems, and insight cadences that drive product decisions across the organization. They will partner with VP- and Director-level stakeholders to define what success looks like for autonomy at scale and ensure the entire organization has the data infrastructure and insight capability to pursue it.

Responsibilities

  • Own the analytical strategy for autonomy and commercial performance — defining the metric frameworks, measurement systems, and insight cadences that drive product decisions across the organization.

  • Act as a thought partner to VP-level Product and Engineering leaders, proactively surfacing trends, risks, and opportunities before they become blockers.

  • Lead the design and governance of experimentation programs (A/B tests, staged rollouts, capability evaluations), establishing methodology standards adopted across teams.

  • Drive company-level understanding of commercial deployment performance, translating complex system behavior into strategic narratives for executives and the board.

  • Architect scalable data solutions — owning the analytical layer of key data pipelines, instrumentation strategies, and dashboard infrastructure that the broader Data team builds on.

  • Identify and close critical measurement gaps; partner with Engineering to define telemetry requirements for new features and systems before they ship.

  • Mentor and elevate senior analysts; set the technical and craft bar for the team and help define the career ladder for the analytics function.

  • Represent the Product Analytics team in cross-functional leadership forums, advocating for data-driven decision-making at the product and program level.

  • Travel periodically to Kodiak's commercial deployment and operations locations to build operational intuition and ground analytical work in reality.

Requirements

  • Analytical leadership: 8+ years of product analytics experience in high-growth tech, with a track record of independently driving strategy — not just executing requests.
  • Organizational impact: Demonstrated ability to define and scale analytical frameworks across multiple teams or product areas; experience influencing roadmap and resourcing decisions with data.
  • Technical depth: Expert-level SQL and Python; experience architecting analytics systems and pipelines, not just querying them. Proficiency with Kibana and dashboard tooling; comfort owning the instrumentation strategy end-to-end.
  • Mentorship and team development: Experience growing senior ICs and establishing team norms, standards, and best practices — whether or not you hold a formal management title.
  • Executive communication: Proven ability to distill ambiguous, multi-dimensional data into clear, compelling narratives for VP- and C-suite audiences. You shape how leadership thinks about the business, not just report on it.
  • Cross-functional authority: Track record of driving alignment across Product, Engineering, and Operations at the program level — you are the person others bring in to resolve measurement disagreements and define shared ground truth.
  • Business and domain judgment: Deep intuition for connecting technical metrics to fleet economics, customer outcomes, and competitive positioning. You know which metrics matter and which are vanity.
  • Structured thinking at scale: Ability to decompose novel, high-stakes problems — often without precedent — into rigorous analytical frameworks that others can follow and extend.
  • Domain expertise or strong curiosity: Background in autonomous systems, logistics, mobility, or safety-critical industries a strong plus; genuine drive to become a domain expert in AV commercialization.
  • Education: Degree in data analytics, data science, statistics, or equivalent; advanced degree a plus.

  • Experience in autonomous systems, logistics, mobility, or safety-critical industries is a plus.
