About the Role

Team Health is seeking a physician leader to join our occupational medicine team. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this role combines expert clinical practice with significant strategic influence. You will not only provide exceptional patient care but also play a key role in shaping the clinical standards for our entire team. This is an opportunity to drive quality assurance, mentor other providers, and ensure our practice operates at the highest level of excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based care for work-related injuries and illnesses, including examinations, treatment plans, and specialist referrals.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop, implement, and monitor clinical protocols and quality assurance standards for all Team Health physicians and practitioners.
  • Perform specialized exams (DOT, pre-placement), act as a Medical Review Officer (MRO), and conduct workplace assessments.
  • Work closely with case managers, therapists, and client employers to ensure integrated, cost-effective care and safe return-to-work plans.
  • Uphold the highest standards of practice according to worker's compensation laws, OSHA, and federal/state regulations.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with a current, unrestricted NJ medical license.
  • Board Certification in Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine is highly preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in an occupational medicine setting is preferred.
  • MRO and FMCSA certifications (or the ability to obtain them within 60 days of hire).
  • Deep knowledge of worker's compensation, OSHA regulations, and DOT requirements.
  • A collaborative leader committed to quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
  • Active DEA, CDS, and BLS certifications.

Pay & Benefits

  • Minimum base salary: $244,912 (final compensation determined by specialization, market data, experience, leadership, education, productivity, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget).
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits for full-time and part-time (20+ hours/week) positions.
