About the role
Provides primary and preventive care by diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, and other disorders.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical services to patients, including all functions necessary to deliver quality medical care.
- Stabilize and refer patients requiring urgent care, regardless of whether they are normally seen by the physician.
- Examine and treat patients assigned to another provider or assist in triaging and rescheduling if that provider is unavailable.
- Complete patient charts according to accepted medical practice standards and specific medical record criteria requirements.
- Assist in obtaining lab specimens from patients when difficulties arise.
- Complete administrative projects as assigned by the Medical Director.
- Maintain medical license, board certification, and hospital admitting privileges.
- Participate in the on-call schedule as set by the Medical Director.
- Supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in the physician’s specialty area.
- Serve as preceptor for medical students, nurse practitioners, physician assistant students, and residents.
- Adhere to all medical office policies and procedure manuals.
- Serve as supervisory physician for mid-level providers regarding clinical issues and State regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Quality Assurance activities and assist with necessary audits.
- Advise administration of any issues impacting the practice.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the Medical Director.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO).
- Completion of an accredited residency.
- Board certification or board eligible in specialty.
- Unrestricted license to practice within California.
- Valid DEA.
- PALS or NRP, ACLS may be required.
Patient Interaction Expectations
- Greet patients before they greet you.
- Listen, respond, and make eye contact with every patient.
- Personalize interactions with each patient.
- Explain to each patient the process of care.
- Provide patients with updates throughout their visit.
Pay
$300,000–$330,000 annually.
