Staff Pharmacist - Inventory (Days)

Responsibilities

• Proactively monitor, manage, and communicate medication shortages and backorders
• Oversee Omnicell/ADC inventory management, evaluating usage trends to optimize PAR levels, executing floor stock additions or deletions, and ensuring accurate medication placement
• Maintain, and present weekly inventory database reports and metrics grids
• Add, validate, and troubleshoot new National Drug Codes (NDCs) and scan codes within the pharmacy carousel, Omnicell
• Aid with the complete lifecycle of controlled substances inventory, including receiving orders, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and medication waste
• Support automated medication tray processing systems (e.g., Kit Check/KTB), fulfilling kit-related requests, and performing daily quality assurance checks
• Identify and implement inventory cost-saving initiatives
• Execute VAMS formulary additions and deletions
• Carefully coordinate the prompt removal and quarantine of expired, recalled, or damaged medications
• Support implementation of projects and programs
• Maintain and manage hazardous drug databases

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Ph.D. in Pharmacy required
• RPH certification from the state of Texas required
• 2+ years hospital staff pharmacist experience preferred
