Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical care across the full medication-use process
- Partner closely with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize therapy
- Perform clinical assessments and monitor drug therapy outcomes
- Oversee pharmacy technicians and ensure safe, accurate medication dispensing
- Support a patient-centered, high-acuity hospital environment with strong interdisciplinary collaboration
Requirements
- Preferred Hospital residency or equivalent inpatient experience
Qualifications
- Pharmacy licensure in the state of practice
- Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
- One year experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months as a Pharmacist in the specialty area
- Knowledge of computer software, particularly medication management information system software, Microsoft applications and Automated dispensing system
Skills
- Good organizational, problem-solving, and computer skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Benefits
- Pay Range: $58.30 to $93.29 (DOE)
- Retention Bonus: $40,000 for eligible new hires

Additional Information
- Reviews medication orders and evaluates their appropriateness and completeness
- Documents resolutions and clinical interventions in the appropriate manner
- Accurately and completely documents patient assessment data and clinical interventions
- Utilizes clinical pharmacy skills in assessing and formulating recommendations to physicians
- Participates in and supports decentralized pharmacist activities
- Prepares and dispenses medications and IV solutions in an accurate and timely manner
- Supervises and directs work of pharmacy technicians and interns
- Coordinates medication preparation and distribution work of the pharmacy technicians and ensures accuracy prior to dispensing medications for distribution
- Provides accurate, appropriate and timely information to physicians, nurses, patients and others regarding medication therapy
- Ensures accurate records are being maintained (e.g. audits, controlled substances, logs)
- Assists in medication delivery and documentation collection per current compliance standards
- Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards
