Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical care across the full medication-use process
  • Partner closely with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize therapy
  • Perform clinical assessments and monitor drug therapy outcomes
  • Oversee pharmacy technicians and ensure safe, accurate medication dispensing
  • Support a patient-centered, high-acuity hospital environment with strong interdisciplinary collaboration

Requirements

  • Preferred Hospital residency or equivalent inpatient experience

Qualifications

  • Pharmacy licensure in the state of practice
  • Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • One year experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months as a Pharmacist in the specialty area
  • Knowledge of computer software, particularly medication management information system software, Microsoft applications and Automated dispensing system

Skills

  • Good organizational, problem-solving, and computer skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Benefits

  • Pay Range: $58.30 to $93.29 (DOE)
  • Retention Bonus: $40,000 for eligible new hires
  • Relocation Assistance up to $7,500

  • Shift Differentials: Weekend +$2/hr, Evening +$2.50/hr, Night +$6/hr

Additional Information

  • Reviews medication orders and evaluates their appropriateness and completeness
  • Documents resolutions and clinical interventions in the appropriate manner
  • Accurately and completely documents patient assessment data and clinical interventions
  • Utilizes clinical pharmacy skills in assessing and formulating recommendations to physicians
  • Participates in and supports decentralized pharmacist activities
  • Prepares and dispenses medications and IV solutions in an accurate and timely manner
  • Supervises and directs work of pharmacy technicians and interns
  • Coordinates medication preparation and distribution work of the pharmacy technicians and ensures accuracy prior to dispensing medications for distribution
  • Provides accurate, appropriate and timely information to physicians, nurses, patients and others regarding medication therapy
  • Ensures accurate records are being maintained (e.g. audits, controlled substances, logs)
  • Assists in medication delivery and documentation collection per current compliance standards
  • Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards
