Staff Nurse, Transplant, Full-time, Nights
About the role
Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, University of Chicago Medicine, as a Staff Nurse in the 3W Transplant department at our Hyde Park campus. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes appropriate assessment skills to determine patient needs
- Develops a plan of care for those patients whose needs do not require the expertise of a Case Manager or collaborates with the Case Manager to develop a plan of care for specified patients
- Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by Care Center Director or Patient Care Manager
- Provides support to peers by assisting as needed, being a resource person and working as a team member
- Aids in the development/attainment of goals and objectives for the Care Center
- Uses clinical pathways and/or plans of care incorporating standards of practice
- Assesses own need for professional growth and development and seeks appropriate resources to meet needs
- Attends continuing education programs and participates in program evaluation
Requirements
- Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Current Illinois RN license
- Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a BSN program within six (6) to nine (9) months of hire, and make progress toward and complete their BSN degree within 30 months
- ADN nurses receive 100% tuition reimbursement towards a BSN degree from an accredited program

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis.
