STAFF NURSE (TEMP) Central Staffing Resources (Cardiac Procedure Unit - EP and Cath Prep/Procedure/Recovery)

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients being scheduled for Cath procedures and prepped for all procedures done in the cath labs.
  • Provide care for the patient during their coordination of care and/or during their right heart cardiac cath procedure including patients with heart failure, Pulmonary Hypertension, transplant biopsy needs.
  • Career with all members of the health care team including technical staff, physician staff, nursing from other areas and anesthesia as indicated.

Required Qualifications

  • Current licensure to practice nursing in the state of Michigan.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience with 2 years of ICU or ED experience within the last 3 years.
  • Experience with monitoring arrhythmias, hemodynamic pressures, emergent management of the cardiac patients and working knowledge of emergency cardiac medications.
  • Experience with conscious sedation and airway management.
  • Telephone triage experience.
  • Coordination of care experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • BSN preferred.
  • Cardiac ICU experience with the past 3 years.
  • Previous EP/Cath Lab experience or cared for Cath/EP patients.
  • Experience in caring for patients with intra-aortic balloon pump therapy and other ventricular assist devices.
  • Experience as a float RN.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in emergent situations.
  • Demonstrated flexibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary health care team.
  • Demonstrated positive verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated team player skills.

Modes of Work

  • Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment.

Work Schedule

  • Commitment is 24 hours per 4 week scheduling period.
  • Day, Evening and Night shifts are available; 8, 10 AND 12 HR BLOCKS AVAILABLE!

  • This temporary position may meet eligibility requirements for health care benefits.
  • TEMPORARY FLOAT NURSE GUIDELINES
  • 1). All CSR employees are required to attend an annual educational Blitz to complete required UM mandatories and compentencies (BCLS every 2 yrs, Cardiac Arrest and maintain all other applicable certifications).
  • 2). Temporary Float Nurses are expected to work all shifts requested unless no work is available. It is the intention that all Temps will float to all units within the cluster speciality.
  • 3.) A Temporary Nurse should work 32 hours per 4 week schedule block. You may request four (4), eight (8), ten (10) or twelve (12) hour shifts in advance.
  • 4.) Temporary Nurses in the CSR Clusters are NOT required to work weekends or holidays.
  • 5.) Temporary Nurses will participate in a newly designed, streamlined, onboarding/orientation program. However, the progression of orientation will be dependent upon clinical competency, staffing needs of the individual units, and the number of hours worked by the Temporary RN.

Background Screening
