About the role
The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct patient‑centered care for individuals or groups within the scope of practice.
- Deliver care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients of all ages.
- Perform leadership and professional duties, and participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
- Educate and mentor staff, including precepting new employees, and promote evidence‑based practices.
- Support provider staff, foster collaboration, and ensure efficient, high‑quality pediatric care with a team approach.
- Utilize systems‑based practice, informatics, and technology to enhance patient care.
- Adapt to temporary assignments across different hospital areas based on patient needs.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience in healthcare and working with various organizational levels preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems (e.g., EPIC) required or preferred.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred.
Education & Certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or in progress with completion within five years.
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Ohio.
