About the role
The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care focused on family-centered, patient-specific needs across all age groups, utilizing principles from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care with a focus on patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills to address physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients.
- Perform leadership, mentorship, and professional duties, including staff education and precepting.
- Engage in evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and safety initiatives.
- Support provider teams with collaborative, efficient, and patient-centered care, especially for pediatric patients.
- Utilize informatics and technology systems effectively.
- Participate in system-based practices and adapt to temporary assignments across different areas as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership, guidance, and motivational skills to foster team collaboration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize under pressure.
- Experience working with various organizational levels; healthcare experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC) preferred.
- Current Ohio RN license, BLS certification, and a BSN (or obtaining it within 5 years) are required.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred.
