Staff Nurse (RN) - New Grad OR Nurse Residency - Varying Shifts

About the role

The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center Health System Perioperative Nurse Residency Program supports new graduate nurses as they transition into professional clinician roles. It is a full-time, 9-month program that includes hands-on clinical experience, classroom and simulation sessions, and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Develop critical thinking skills related to clinical practice and safe patient care
• Advance from novice to competent nurse through various training opportunities
• Collaborate with a team of care providers to achieve positive patient care outcomes
• Assess, prescribe, implement, coordinate, delegate, and evaluate nursing care
• Manage and provide care to patients and their families
• Direct and supervise nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team
• Prioritize patient care needs and lead the patient care team

Requirements

• Graduate of a nursing program accredited by CCNE or ACEN
• Current RN licensure or interim permit from the Ohio Board of Nursing
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a relevant patient care setting preferred
