Staff Nurse - Operating Room

About the role

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on principles from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct patient-centered care for individuals or groups within their scope of practice.
• Deliver care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages.
• Perform leadership, mentorship, and professional duties, including staff education, precepting, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support collaborative efforts with provider staff to ensure efficient operations, high-quality care, and excellent customer service, especially for pediatric patients.
• Engage in systems-based practice, informatics, evidence-based practices, and safety protocols.
• Adapt to temporary assignments across various hospital areas as needed.
• Focus on delivering family-centered, safe, and high-quality nursing care through teamwork and evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year healthcare experience preferred.
• Current RN license in Ohio.
• BLS certification.
• BSN (or obtaining within five years).

Skills

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively.
• Experience with healthcare teams, Microsoft Office, and electronic medical records (preferred).

Schedule

Part-time role, onsite, with variable days and call duties.
